Thank you for stopping by

I just wanted to take a moment to thank you all for taking the time to visit my blog. I sometimes wonder if I am doing this for me or for others to enjoy. I like to think it is for both.
We had a very nice Easter Sunday just enjoying each others company. We had one guest over for dinner and it was just a nice simple Sunday together with a friend
I remember when there were little ones that we needed to get up early to hide the eggs and make up the Easter Baskets the night before. It seems like every year it has gotten more commercialized and less for the real reason of the day itself. But then that is up to my daughters to decide how they want to establish their own traditions for the Easter holiday for their own families now. I remember getting new Easter dresses to wear to church along with an Easter bonnets too. Oh yes, let us not forget the gloves. Now days we are lucky if we can get the kids to go to church. This picture is an image I took from the website but it totally depicts what I am trying to say.
Now this is me. Yep, my mother used to always dress me in ruffles and lace and little paten-leather Mary-Janes.
I have to admit I looked adorable. Heheh but can you imagine parents doing that now days? I can't. Its all cotton and a little frills but not like it used to be.
I recall one Easter when my bangs wouldn't lay down so I cut them almost up to the scalp. I thought my mother would have a heart attack. She took hair from the back of that area, combed it forward and gave me a few more bangs then what I left.
The top picture on the left is the one where I gave my self a hair cut and the next is the following Easter. I always had a new Easter outfit and some horrid nylon gloves that to this day I can't stand the sound of feeling of nylon or silk being rubbed together. It is like scratching a chalk board to me. I would sit with my fingers spread wide open so I didn't have to hear or feel that sound. Weird huh?

What I am trying to say is that times change everything and they have certainly changed the way we look at things now. I suppose that is why I lean to the primitive aspect of decor, my thinking, my way of life and me in general. I prefer the way it used to be with the exception of this awesome computer. heheh
Now we can all share our feelings, family, and events with our friends and readers and I am so grateful to all of you for taking time to read my monologue and see through it all as to what I am trying to say. Thanks for letting me share a bit of my past with you all. Will you look at that car.
Thank you all for being here. And I look forward to many more visits from you all.

Happy Easter to All my Friends and Followers

Happy Easter everyone. I hope that your day is filled with love and family and thoughts of what this Holiday is all about.  As I was looking through Images to find the perfect sunrise, I found that they were all equally beautiful and then it dawned on me, every sunrise is Gods way of reminding us that he has risen
to stand beside him and I thank God for every morning when I wake up. Now I realize why I am thanking him in more ways then one.

Now I also want to share with you all, the ongoing saga of Phoebe and her basket and tennis balls. She has a new way that she plays with them. I couldn't bear to toss her basket ball away and now I am glad I didn't.
I was in the kitchen this morning and turned around to see Phoebe with her newest creation. It is her version of a
marshmallow pie with yellow in the middle.
She is just having the best time with the tennis balls and the poor dilapidated basket ball. She is so easy to please. Now does this look like a poor miss treated little puppy girl?

Here is the update on my Home Is Where The Heart Is pillow. I still have a ways to go. The stream is coming out of the mountains and some rocks in the stream and then all the back ground. So this one is going to take me a bit longer then some of my other ones.

So now I just want to remind you all if you are travelling today to be safe and watch out for all the crazy drivers out there.
Happy Easter Day from our Home to Yours

Updated WIP project and Phoebe got some new balls. Woof ! !

This is my newest work in progress. Once it is done I am going to apply it to a small wooden box. Well, that Idea changed to making it into a pillow or wall hanging when its all done.
I love making these punch needle projects but I just have a hard time deciding where to put then once they are done.

Last night as I was washing the dishes my little lap puppy brought me a much deflated basket ball. She is very upset as much as she like being able to carry it easier now, she can't chase it or kick it. Doesn't this look like the face of a sad little girl?
I just bought her 3 new heavy duty Wilson tennis balls as they last the longest, now it looks like I am going to have to get her a new basket ball. She destroys soccer balls to fast as you can see from this photo but this basket ball lasted almost a year and it was an old ball when it was given to her.
Maybe someone will feel sorry for me and give me a new basket ball. Poor little puppy girl.

You might say that she is a little hard on her toys she loves. Hehe
Well, guess its time to put on the leashes and walk the kids so until later,
Have an awesome day.
I got some new tennis balls Woof Woof Woof!!!! Its not a basket ball
but it will do till I get another one. At least my jaws will stay in shape. Woof eheh
I'm a happy puppy now, see the smile on my face :-)

Your Room Awaits you

Hehehe, can you tell I am excited. I have my daughters room all ready for her. I turn the mattress and put fresh linens on the bed, dusted, vacuumed and did as much as I could to make it comfortable for her. I just can hardly wait to reminisce about old times. We are going to visit old homes and stomping grounds when she was young and go through the coastal gift shops and have some awesome clam chowder at the Chowder Bowl in Nye Beach. Yum. We are just going to enjoy each others company for as much as we can in 4 days. Not long enough for having not seen each other for 12 years but we will make the most of it. Heheh, most of it will be spent on the road coming from the airport and going back. Wish we had a genie we could just blink and have all that extra time to spend together.

Here is you cozy little room. Now if you can just keep Phoebe off your bed you will be lucky. She loves to snuggle as you can tell from this pic

Wallace and Phoebe are patiently awaiting Aunt Susan's arrival. I keep saying to them "Where is Aunt Susan" and they tilt their heads and run to the window to see if someone's coming. They don't know who Aunt Susan is but it's company and they love company.

So they are guarding the stairs to your room and they know that something is going on with all the hub bub in the guest room with things being rearranged and freshened up.
So we are all ready for you Susan, just get on that jet and come see your mama. heheh
Wallace is at the door to
    Welcome you to our home
And Phoebe is on your bed
waiting to snuggle and play ball

I am so Excited

My daughter called me last night. She asked me what I was having for dinner and I told her and she said she wanted to put her request in early for Pineapple Chicken.???? I said oh you mean sweet and sour chicken and she said yes. I want it for dinner on the 29th.

I said what, on the 29th??? She said yes my husband just gave me a ticket to come for a visit on the 29th. I haven't seen her in 12 years.! ! ! ! I am doing flips and jumping for joy. I am so excited I can hardly think.12 years!!! Wow, its a lifetime for some and way too long between mother and daughters. I just don't know where to begin first. I am going to get the guest room all organized and cleaned up spiffy just for her. Oh, I can't wait, this is just going to be awesome to see my Middle daughter Susan. It was her birthday present but it made my day too.

Time to make some new memories. I can't hardly wait but I guess I will just have to be patient as I have waited this long, what is 2 more weeks. An eternity.

My Mama Loves Me and Wallace

Yes, My Mama loves us, she loves us, she gets down on her knees and hugs us,
She loves us like a tennis ball, don't know about rocks.
I'm so cute

Ya wanna play a little soccer??? Huh.....what do you mean its not a soccer ball, it works for me.  What??? Its not fair because I have four feet? No one ever said that life was fair but I guess it sort of sucks being you. Woof.. woof... woof  but I will give you a head start and let you kick off and I won't lick the ball too much.

I am just one of the fans because I can't get my mouth around the ball and I don't run as fast but Mama loves me just as much as you and she loved me firstest
Oh yea? Well don't push you luck buddy boy, I may be younger but I out weigh you by about 50 pounds.

Just finished Kara's Rooster

Well, I just finished up Kara's Rooster for the little girl that created the picture. I made it into a pillow for her so now I need to get it sent off so that she can appreciate her creativity in another form.

This is my first rug hook with yarn. I thought I would start out with yarn and then on to bigger and better materials. I have the cut wool that I plan on using next I think that I am going to use a different pic though. I just have a problem duplicating too often. I am thinking along the line of a bee Skep. This is the one I have in mind.

I think that this will work great for a rug hook. The Skep itself looks like a rug hook to me. Now just to decide on the color scheme.

Still raining or I should say its raining again. We did have a couple of days of sunshine sort of. At least it was dry, sort of. It's going to take about a week of dry to allow for all the moisture in the ground to absorb so I can start digging and planting. It's just too wet to dig as I just end up with mud.

I am really getting tired of washing 8 little feet 6 times a day when my little furry friends come back inside. I was just wiping them off but it has gotten a little more in depth these days. With beige carpeting I sort of need to be a little more aggressive with the muddy feet.
So, I am off like a dirty shirt to see what other kind of trouble I can get into. I am still having a blast watching the Eagles and eaglets nesting on http://www.ustream.tv/channel-popup/decorah-eagles
I get so engrossed with the three little creatures. They really are developing their own personalities.
Hugs everyone.

Its a Violet Saturday Morning

I just love watching my Violets bloom. These Violets are 3 and 4 years old and just love living under the kitchen window. The pink one was given to me by a dear friend here in Oregon that I taught how to weave pine needle baskets and the dark blue one came from a fellow member of Dave's Garden on an exchange for a pine needle basket as did the lighter one too.
They look especially nice on a sunny morning like this morning.

Like I say it is a Violet morning and I am hoping that the sun stays out long enough for me to get outside and do a little more weeding. I did get the front yard mowed yesterday with the mower on high. I then lowered it to mow it a little closer and the dad gum thing wouldn't start so I am going to give it another try today providing the sun cooperates with me and the mower too.

Of course Phoebe is in her usual morning mode of nap time. I think that she sleeps more then she is awake but I think that is what is causing to grow so much.
Well, I got her bowling ball out. I have to watch her though as she likes to pick it up and I am afraid she is going to hurt her teeth.

So I am off to try and make my front yard a little more presentable to the public eye or at least to my own eyes.
Have a wonderful Saturday and enjoy life as it is.

Have you missed me??

Sorry I haven't posted much lately. I seem to be doing so much in my Punch needle work that little else has been going on. Between being stuck inside due to inclement weather and low economy and even higher gas prices, I have just enclosed myself indoors and into my needle work. I have been posting more on my other needle work blog http://punchdrunkneedleworks.blogspot.com and not so much here. I need to get busy and start some more sewing as that fits better into my Primitive Nest along with my baking. Since gardening has been put on hold for awhile I just get myself deep into needlework projects and this is what I am working on now. I just finished a little lamb that I put into the window of a memory box that I posted on my other blog but I will give you a quick glimpse here.

I am so looking forward to being able to go for our walks behind our library. I is so nice up in the trees but after having fallen and breaking my wrist on a wet leave I have chosen to walk that trail only when it is sunny, dry and warm. So, God willing that will happen soon in the very near future. This is our wonderful trail on a gorgeous sunny day

Puppies are all well and don't seem to mind the weather at all, in fact, I think they like getting there feet washed a dozen times a day. It is making me crazy but saves the carpet.

I have been having a great time watching the nesting Eagles that I posted about. The three little eaglets  are just adorable and very aggressive to boot. Boy when one thinks that another is getting too much food he or she grabs the back of the neck of his or her sibling and gives it a good shaking. Whew, even at three days old they show their dominance. I guess it is true, survival of the fittest.

So my dear followers, I am still here and so are Phoebe and Sweet Wallace and we will try to be more attentive to our first and foremost blog  and its followers.
Have a wonderful weekend my friends a send me a little sunshine please.
This is our wonderful little town of Toledo, Oregon on a nice sunny day. Would love to see it again some time soon. That the sun I am speaking of. heheh

Have you been watching the Eagles

There is a live stream video that is ongoing showing a pair of eagles sitting on a nest with three adorable little chicks that has me glued to the screen just watching them. It is so entertaining and instructional to view them.
This is the link to watch them.
http://www.ustream.tv/channel-popup/decorah-eagles
Its great for kids, adults and the whole family for that mater.
I hope that they do more of this sort of thing.
Check it out. There are over 100,000 people watching them on this camera.
